The National Bingo Game Association launches National Cash
For those of you unfamiliar with the name, the National Bingo Game Association works with leading bingo operators to offer games of bingo with massive prizes. They deal with land based bingo halls and basically use the total number of tickets sold, across all clubs, to generate a total prize fund. This happens twice a day, every day of the week for 364 days of the year, which is a mammoth undertaking.
The National Bingo Game has been operating now since 1986 and the majority of regional and national bingo chains take place, including well known names such as Mecca Bingo, Buckingham Bingo and Beacon Bingo. The prize varies according to the day and time; from Sunday to Friday afternoons for example the prize can reach up to £5000, whereas on a Saturday afternoon it can reach £10,000. If you strike it lucky in an evening session then you’ll be even more pleased – as Monday to Thursday evenings the prize is up to £20,000, increasing to £25,000 Friday to Sunday. The idea behind the game is very straight forward, to be a winner you have to call house on the least number of calls throughout all participating halls.
It is said that the introduction of the National Game back in 1986 gave a fresh burst of life to bingo, and it will be interesting to see how their latest move, the launch of their new linked game, National Cash, performs. Bingo hall players, for just a £1 stake, will be able to play for a £5000 jackpot, twice a day, every day. To win the jackpot players have to call house in 45 numbers or less. However, if no-one crosses off all of their numbers within the 45 maximum, the game will continue until one player in each of the halls linked to National House calls house to claim a prize.
National Cash has the honour to be the first wide area mechanised cash bingo game in the UK. Previously, before the installation of this new technology, less than 30 bingo halls could link up, whereas now up to 250 UK bingo halls are said to be looking to participate.
Bingo halls have faced a tough time of things lately, but this is another move that could lead to a comeback and rise in popularity.
