Mystery winner gets $266 million jackpot

People in the Los Angeles area are frantically checking their tickets with the news that a ticket bought for just $1 has scooped a massive $266 million win in the multi state Mega Millions draw.

Although the ticket holder has not yet been identified, the restaurant which sold the winning ticket is celebrating as they get a half of 1% of the winnings, which comes to a very satisfactory amount of
approximately $1.3 million.

The winner gets to choose between an annual payment for 25 years or a once off payment – what a decision to make! The jackpot in Tuesday’s draw, which is played in 38 states, was the 8th largest so far in the
history of Mega Millions. The winning numbers were 9, 21, 31, 36, 43 and 8 and according to the official lottery website the odds of getting them were an amazing 1 in 175,711,536.
