Manchester City footballer arrested for casino fight

Kelven Etuhu, the Manchester City midfielder, was arrested after a fight in a casino in Manchester which led to 3 people being injured. The 22 year old will answer bail next week after being held on suspicion of wounding.

The incident took place at the 235 casino in Manchester City Centre, where police were called to after receiving reports of a disturbance. Mr Etuhu and 27 year old Leonard Rico Richards from Longsight were arrested after a 23 year old woman and two men, aged 24 and 26, were taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary for treatment to injuries. Crown lawyers now have to decide if the men should be charged or not.

Mr Etuhu rose through the City’s Academy ranks, making his senior debut in September 2007. Towards the end of the 2007/08 season though he was loaned out to Leicester City following tough competition for places in the squad. He was unlucky enough to suffer a hamstring injury at the beginning of the 2008/09 season which took him out of the squad into after the New Year. He has been on loan to Cardiff since August, though he did return to Manchester City for treatment after suffering an ankle injury in December.
