Goodbye to GMTV as Daybreak launches

For those of you who like your morning TV you’ll have noticed that there has been a change in programmes as GMTV has been replaced by Daybreak. The ITV programme only launched on Monday but hosts Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles still managed to attract a million viewers, 180,000 more than GMTV had been doing recently.

The pair had previously worked together on The One Show, the popular BBC programme, and were expected to bring their magical partnership across with them. At it’s peak Daybreak had 1.5 million viewers, with an average of 1 million, whilst The One Show, with its new hosts of Sian Williams and Bill Turnbull, managed to get a peak of 1.9 million viewers and an average of 1.4 million on Monday.

One senior BBC executive commented; “Daybreak did OK but they had Tony Blair on and lots of advertising. On Monday Adrian and Christine’s old programme, The One Show, got 4.3 million so they clearly haven’t taken all of their audience with them. And BBC Breakfast is still the most popular show at that time of the morning.”

One other change is that GMTV Bingo is no more and, just the same as the TV Bingo programme, has been replaced by Daybreak Bingo. This launched just before the TV programme so had a bit of a head start. As you play bingo you can keep up to date with whats going on in the world as there is a link to the new breakfast news, lifestyle and entertainment show. Lorraine Kelly made the move between the two morning shows and also features on Daybreak Bingo, which has Lorraine Bingo. There are some great promotions on the new bingo site which offers a great mix of both 90 ball and 75 ball bingo games in addition to some great side games, including the ever popular Deal or No Deal, which recently made Matthew G a very happy man when he won a staggering £1,963,089 playing it.

We like the look of both the morning show, great to watch with a cup of tea and biscuit, and Daybreak Bingo, and quite happily recommend you try both.
